Lotus, Rising
The first drawing of the atelier: a single lotus opening from still, dark water. It became the ‘Lotus Rising Dress’.
From the studio
Made slowly, by hand
A few moments from the making of this piece: the first lines, the gathering colour, the final breath of gold.
Artist notes
In his words
I wanted the lotus to feel as though it were surfacing rather than posed, rising out of the dark, unhurried, in its own time.
The edition is kept to seventy-five so each piece can be numbered and finished by hand. Limiting it to one per collector keeps the edition wide rather than gathered into a few hands.
