The making of an edition

An edition begins long before the cloth. It begins as a single drawing, made slowly over several quiet mornings, and it is only once that original feels finished that we consider whether it wants to be worn.

We keep each edition to seventy-five. Small enough that every piece can be numbered and finished by hand; small enough that we can plant a tree for each order and mean it. One per collector, so the edition stays wide rather than gathered into a few hands.

When a release opens, it opens all at once, and then it is closed forever. There is a certain calm in that: nothing is restocked, nothing is chased. What you hold is simply itself.

Keep in touch

These notes also find their way to our letter: affirmations, news and sketches, sent gently and never too often.
